In 2007, Kurt Kuhl enlisted in the Ohio Army National Guard as an MP for five years. During that time he completed a Bachelor's of Science in Atmospheric Science and Climatology at The Ohio State University and then earned an Associate's Degree in Business Administration from Ohio Business College.
Since leaving the Guard, Kurt has worked in many of the same jobs as struggling Northwest Ohioans such as factory work, retail, security, and now as a CDL truck driver.
He and his wife Melissa, who is a social worker in Fremont, have made a home in the countryside outside of Helena, giving voice to the rural townships of Sandusky County.
He knows what the average person cares about and what struggles they are facing. This is a guy who is not a politician but one who learned as an Eagle Scout and a Soldier that when you see a problem - you don't stand on the sidelines and complain, you step up and tackle it.
His demonstrated commitment and discipline will bring fresh perspective and new energy to the Sandusky County Board of Commissioners, making it accessible and relevant to the lives of the residents of Sandusky County.
